Welcome to the ACS Simulation Tools Contribution section.
As this project is developmental in nature, we would like to
encourage other developers to help contribute back to community.
We urge anyone who has bug fixes,
useful additions, or suggestions to let us know.

This release is far from perfect. There are many known issues that are
still present, and many feature requests that have yet to be addressed.
On this page (which is itself a work in progress), we will continue to post a
list of desired items. This is neither a complete nor
a prioritized list, but it is a nice summary of those things that both the developers
and the users would like to see added to the corresponding tools. If you are
interested in helping on any of these topics, please post to the development
mailing list (will be up soon) or email .
Many of these items are already in development or on our plates for future
development.
Contribute to the rePLay Transmogrifier
- Add x86 support for SSE/SSE2/3DNow!/MMX. For this, there needs to be
an implementation for both decoding into micro-operations and
executing the resulting micro-operations.
- Add x86-64 support.
- Add x86 support for modifying segment descriptors in protected mode.
- Debug and verify x86 16-bit mode. (it is somewhat implemented, but
disabled)
- Implement any instruction that is not currently decoded (ie. those
instructions that decode into a uPNT or a uIGN).
- Design new ISA-specific frontends. We have incomplete versions of
SPARCv9 and Alpha, but would also like to incorporate other ISAs.
If you have a desire to work on the SPARCv9 or Alpha frontends,
feel free to contact us.
- Post bochs disk images and benchmarks.
- If you would like to donate any open trace formats along with a
frontend and benchmark traces, this would be a very generous
contribution.
- Add checkpointing functionality to bochs. this is currently a project
that is about 80% complete, and it involves working with the bochs
development team. Work on this has been stalled for a while, and there
is great need to get it going again.
- Add new interfaces for ISA-specific reference models. In particular,
we would like to incorporate simics.
- Bug fixes, bug fixes.
- Glaring (or subtle) speed enhancements.
- Porting the tool to different compile targets.
- Come up with more wishes! We would love to hear any suggestions for
improvements of the tool.
