ECE 461 (Spring 2005) - Homework 9 Posted April 16 Due in class on April 22 Grading policy Answers to only a subset of the questions will be graded for correctness of the answer and the procedure. Credit will be granted for attempting the other questions. Readings: Sections 7.1 through 7.6 (except section 7.5-1) (NOTE: Readings are revised) Problem numbers below refer to the textbook by McCluskey. (A) For the circuit in Figure P7.3 on page 322, determine the flow table. (B) Construct a flow table that contains an essential hazard. Explain why the essential hazard exists. Your flow table should contain at least 5 states. (C) Problem 8.1 for Figure P8.1(a). Note that the circuit has two inputs, one of which is the CLOCK. (D) Using the pair table, determine the equivalence classes for the states in the flow table in Table P9.3(a) on page 419. Determine the reduced machine. (E) Implement the synchronous machine specified in Table P9.6 on page 420 using JK flip-flops.
